Two different men have been arrested for the death of Samantha Woll for two very different motives, but it doesn't make sense. https://t.co/WrWRckZU6N

Video Transcript AI Summary
Samantha Wolff, a synagogue president from Detroit, was found stabbed to death outside her home. An arrest was made in November, but a recent report reveals a different suspect. The new suspect, Michael Jackson Bolonis, was allegedly breaking into cars in the area and was inside Samantha's home when she arrived. A confrontation occurred, leading to her stabbing. Initially, her death was treated as a domestic dispute, but the first suspect was released. The current suspect's arrest raises questions about how he gained entry without signs of forced entry and why nothing was stolen. The case's handling suggests an attempt to make it go away, which may attract attention.

Speaker 0: So this is Samantha Wolff, the synagogue president from Detroit who was found stabbed to death outside of her home a couple months back. I did a video about it then. I think I might have even done 2 videos. I did see that an arrest had been made back in early November, and I had other stuff going on, and it just seemed like that was all being taken care of, that it wasn't a situation where it was a hate crime, so I was like, okay. That's good. And then I saw something today about the person arrested, and I'm like, that's not the person I saw in November. So I did some digging. First, I'm gonna play the report about The person who is now arrested and charged with her murder. Speaker 1: Now let's get right into the suspect that has been arrested and now charged with homicide, and entering in line to a police officer. You're taking a look at 28 year old Michael Jackson Bolonis. He was arrested this week. They do not believe that Michael Jackson Bolanos knew Samantha Wole. What their working theory is at this time is he was breaking into cars in the area The night that Samantha Woll came home from a wedding, he was actually inside of her home. When she got there, there was some kind of confrontation, and that is when they believe Boulanis stabbed her. Speaker 0: Okay. So that's the guy. He's being charged with murder and with a home invasion. But like I said, that's not the guy that I saw announced back in November. Now they didn't name the guy back then, but they did allude to a motive that was definitely different. One source said her death is being treated as a domestic dispute. And when I saw that, I said, okay. Makes sense. There was no signs of forced entry, nothing missing, stabbing like that. It seems more personal. What I hadn't seen is how a couple of days later, that person was released by police. And even in this article announcing that by CNN, it said investigators are treating her death as rising from a domestic dispute, not from, like, a robbery or a home invasion gone wrong. And then that suspect was released, and now this guy is arrested, and they're saying it was a home invasion gone wrong. Now they're saying he was inside when she opened the door and came home. How? Because they have all along maintained there were no signs of forced entry. How was he in the home? I have a hard time believing she left her door unlocked. And then he's in the home and let's say, okay. She opens the door, she surprises him, and he proceeds to stab her 8 times in the head and neck, which is a really weird place to stab someone. The vast majority of the time when someone is stabbed multiple times, it is to the mid Actually, chest, stomach. You get defensive wounds on the hands and arms if they're fighting back, not to the head and neck. Like, 8 times the head and neck is someone who wants you to die. That's what they're trying to accomplish. So you're telling me this guy's in the house. She opens the door. He panics, I guess, and stabs her 8 times in the head and neck and then leaves. Meanwhile, no signs of forced entry and he took nothing. Like, had he just gotten in the house before she opened the door? Why didn't he have anything? Even if he had, like, collected things and hadn't made it out yet and panicked When he stabbed her, you would think they would find the pile of loot, but they're saying there was no evidence that there was a robbery, but they're also saying not a hate crime. Definitely not a hate crime. And this is after you arrested a different man for this and called it a domestic dispute. And believe me, the new guy, his attorney noticed. He made statements like, I wanna know who was the 1st person they arrested and why did they let that guy go because my client didn't do this. It feels like you went after the first obvious choice, someone she was probably romantically involved with. When that didn't pan out, You found a guy who'd been breaking into cars in the area and went, he'll do. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but It really feels like you're just trying to make this case go away, and people are gonna notice.

This is Caroline Joanne Herrling. She was just sentenced to 20 years in prison for an illegal squatting scheme that resulted in the dismemberment of a body. She reportedly broke into the house of a 71-year-old man and when he died, she failed to report his death. Instead, she pretended to be a manager of the property, stealing assets and money. She then attempted to get rid of the owner's body by dismembering it. These are the types of crimes that happen in Democrat cities that have progressive squatters’ rights.

APPALLING: 77-year-old homeowner arrested for murder after shooting 1 of 3 burglars who broke into his Oakland, California residence. https://t.co/TZnnXrePJk

Video Transcript AI Summary
A 77-year-old homeowner in East Oakland shot a burglary suspect who later died. The homeowner was arrested on suspicion of murder after the incident that occurred around 6 PM on Monday. Authorities say three suspects arrived at the home in a stolen Infiniti Q40. A witness reported seeing the three on the property, one with a crowbar, before hearing a gunshot. Police found the homeowner pointing a stolen .357 Colt Python revolver at the female suspect, who claimed the homeowner shot her friend. Another male suspect was found with a replica gun and arrested on suspicion of burglary. The homeowner has declined to talk to investigators, and no charges have been filed pending review by the Alameda County DA's office. DA Pamela Price stated that no assumptions should be made due to the homeowner's arrest. Prosecutors have until Thursday to decide on charges. Legal analyst Michael Cardoza says self-defense could be argued if the homeowner feared for his life, but shooting someone in the back while chasing them is unlawful. The circumstances are under investigation, and a jury would ultimately decide the outcome if the DA files charges.

Speaker 0: A burglary suspect was shot by a resident near 90 Eighth Avenue and Burr Street in East Oakland. Oakland firefighters and paramedics worked to save the suspect, but he died at the scene. Now I've learned the 77 year old homeowner is in jail, arrested by Oakland police on suspicion of murder. It happened just before six on Monday evening. Authorities say two men and a woman pulled up to the home in the stolen infinity q 40. A witness told police the three went on to the property and that one of the men had a crowbar. That witness then reported hearing a gunshot. I have learned from court documents that according to police, officers arrived and found a homeowner pointing a stolen three fifty seven cold python revolver at the female suspect. That woman told police the homeowner had shot her friend. Police say they found the other male suspect at the scene with a replica gun and arrested him on suspicion of burglary. No charges have been filed against the homeowner, pending a review by the Alameda County DA's office. No one answered the door on Tuesday. It's gonna be a pending case. On Tuesday, I caught up with DA Pamela Price at an unrelated news conference, and she and other law enforcement officials said no assumptions should be made just because the homeowner is in jail. Prosecutors have until Thursday to decide whether to charge him. I have learned to decline to talk to investigators. Speaker 1: You're not supposed to chase them. If you chase them and shoot them, for example, in the back, that is unlawful. Speaker 0: But KTVU legal analyst Michael Cardoza says depending on the facts, the homeowner could still argue self defense. Speaker 1: If you are an imminent fear of your life or someone else's life in your home, you have every right to take necessary means of self defense against the invader. Speaker 0: So, clearly, the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. If this case is charged by the DA, ultimately, it'll be up to the jury to determine what happens. Live in Oakland, Henry Lee, KTVU, Fox Studio. Speaker 1: Alright. Henry, thank

Vance Belter lives in Greenell, Minnesota, and works full-time for Wolf Funeral Home, an intake location for multiple funeral homes and cremation societies. He also works for Metro First Call, handling traditional removals and removals for the Hennepin County medical examiner's office, often involving police and death investigators. Vance has a wife, five children, and two German shepherds. He spent 30 years in the food industry and was invited to the Democratic Republic of Congo to consult on their food supply system, as they import 80% of their food for their 100 million population. He drew on his experience with farm-to-fork companies like Del Monte Foods and Golden Pump Poultry to develop farming and fishing project ideas. When his company wasn't interested, he and his wife decided to pursue the projects independently. To support this work, he began working at a funeral home, which led him to take classes at DMACC and this course to learn more about the funeral industry.

Speaker 0: Hello. My name is Vance Belter. I just go by Vance. No other names that I use. I live in Greenell, Minnesota, about an hour away from the Minneapolis Saint Paul area. I'm affiliated with two funeral homes. I work full time for Wolf Funeral Home, which is an intake location for about six funeral homes. And we also do all the intake for the National Cremation Society and the Neptune Society for all their cremation customers as well. So, I mainly do removals at this point. So I work at Wolf full time, and then I also work for another funeral home called Metro First Call. And they also do traditional removals, at nursing homes, assisted living apartments, but they also have contracts with, medical examiner's office. So, like, one contract is the Hennepin County medical examiner's office, so we'll do removals, which, we're working with a lot of police officers and and, deaf investigators at the location where a decedent is found. Could be a crime scene or just a natural death. And our role is to just take the decedent from that place of death to the medical examiner's office. And so between those two, locations, I'm working about six days a week. What else here? Family and pets. I have a wife and five kids, and we have two pets, German shepherds. Fun fact about myself, I've been about in the food industry about thirty years, and that led to an opportunity. I was invited to the, Democratic Republic Of Congo, which is located in Central Africa. When I was in high school, the country was called Zaire. That's a little bit more familiar with people, but it's the largest, second largest country in Africa right in the middle in the center there. And was asked a couple years ago to go and see what I could do for ideas in helping their food supply system. Their population is about a 100,000,000 people, and they import 80% of their food currently. So some of the food companies I worked for in the past were farm to fork, like Del Monte Foods and Golden Pump Poultry, where we did everything from at Del Monte, we planted the the products to harvested them to process them and then shipped them out in Golden Pump Poultry. We had our own hatcheries, grow out barns with the farmers, and then processing plants. So between those two companies, I have some experience with agriculture. And so, over in the Democratic Republic Of Congo, I had some ideas, they thought were pretty promising, which, the company I was working for at the time wasn't interested in doing anything in Africa. So I talked with my wife, and we decided I just put in my two week notice, and we just go off on our own to try to do these projects to help out in Africa. So we're doing farming and fishing projects in the Democratic Republic Of Congo. And to help pay the bills, I just started working at a funeral home because the shift worked good, for my schedule with the other things I was doing. And, that led to some classes at DMACC, which led to this course. So just learning more about the funeral industry. And I think that covers everything, and I will, look forward to seeing you in class, and we'll go from there.

Speaker 0: Good morning. My name is Joe Thompson, and I'm the acting United States attorney for the District Of Minnesota. Late last night, the US attorney's office filed a complaint bringing an array of federal charges against Vance Luther Belter for his horrific attack on our state and our elected representatives. Political assassinations are rare. They strike at the very core of our democracy. But the details of Belter's crime are even worse. They are truly chilling. It is no exaggeration to say that his crimes are the stuff of nightmares. Belter stalked his victims like prey. He went to their homes, held them some out as a police officer, and shot them in cold blood. Now there's been a lot of information and misinformation out there about Belter's crimes. We have filed a detailed 20 pledged complaint and affidavit that sets forth what happened in this case. I'd like to share some of that information with you now. In the early morning hours of June 14, Belter went to the homes of four Minnesota state politicians with the intent to kill them. Belter first traveled to the home of Minnesota state senator John Hoffman in Champlain, Minnesota. Belter arrived at the senator's home disguised as a police officer. He arrived in a black SUV with emergency lights turned on and with a license plate that read police. Belter wore a black tactical vest and body armor. He carried a flashlight and a Breda nine millimeter handgun. He also wore a hyper realistic silicone mask. Senator Hoffman had a security camera. I've seen the footage from that camera, and it is chilling. Belter knocked on senator Hoffman's front door and repeatedly shouted, this is the police. Open the door. Senator Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, came to the door. When they opened the door, Belter shined the flashlight in their faces and said there had been a shooting reported in the house. Belter asked if they had any weapons. When Belter lowered his flashlight, which he had shined in their face, they realized that he was not a police officer. They shut it out. You're not a cop. You're not a police officer. Belter then announced this is a robbery and forced himself into their home. When senator Hoffman attempted to push Belter out and stop him from entering his home, Belter shot him repeatedly. Belter then shot miss Hoffman repeatedly. Belter fled the scene and the Hoffman's daughter called 911. Unfortunately, the Hoffman survived, although they remain hospitalized. After shooting senator Hoffman and his wife, Belter traveled to the home of another Minnesota state representative in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Video surveillance showed that Belter rang the doorbell at the state representative's house at approximately 02:24AM on Friday night. Again, he was dressed as a law enforcement officer wearing a tactical vest and body armor, carrying a handgun and a flashlight, and wearing that same hyper realistic silicone mask. Again, the images, as you can see on the screen, are haunting. Unfortunately, the state representative was not home. She and her family were gone on vacation until Belter left. Belter then traveled to the home of a Minnesota state senator who lived in New Hope, Minnesota. He parked in the street in that same black SUV with the police license plate. At about 02:36AM on Friday night, after learning of the shooting of senator Hoffman, New Hope police dispatched an officer to conduct a wellness check on the state senator, the Luton New Hope. When the New Hope officer arrived Speaker 1: at Speaker 0: the scene, she saw Belter's black SUV parked down the block with the lights on. The New Hope police officer believed that Belter was a police officer who had been dispatched to the scene to check on the status of the state senator. The Newhole police officer pulled up next to Belter in his car, rolled down her window, and attempted to speak with him. Belter did not respond. According to the officer, he just sat there and stared straight ahead. So the Newhole police officer who had been dispatched to the scene proceeded to the state senator's home, and she waited for other law enforcement to arrive. When they did, by the time they did, Belter had left the scene. Belter then traveled to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and the home of Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman. At approximately 03:30AM, Belter arrived at representative Hortman's house in his black SUV with the police license plates. He parked in the driveway and left the emergency lights on his SUV flashing as if he was a police officer. Belter approached representative Hortman's home, again dressed as a police officer wearing the tactical vest and body armor and wearing that hyper realistic mask. He was armed and carrying a flashlight. Before he entered the home, two Brooklyn Park police officers arrived at the scene. They too had dispatched been dispatched to check on senator and representative Portman after learning of the shooting of senator Hoffman. When they arrived at the scene, they saw Belter's black SUV parked in the driveway with the emergency lights flashing, and they saw Belter standing in front of the house several feet from the door. When Belter saw the officers get out of the car, he drew his weapon and began firing. He rushed into the house through the front door, into it. He repeatedly fired into the house. And when he entered, he murdered representative Horpin and her husband, Mark. Drickland Park police officers fired at Belter as he rushed into the home, but he escaped into the home and out the back. Officers recovered Belter's nine millimeter Beretta along with the body armor and the mask behind the home along his path of flight when he fled on foot. They later searched Belter's car where they found five more firearms, including assault style rifles and a large quantity of ammunition. Belter also had in his card notebooks containing a list of more than 45 Minnesota state and federal elected officials, including representative workman. Now Belter planned his attack carefully. He researched his fam his victims and their families. He used the Internet and other tools to find their addresses and names, the names of their family members. He conducted surveillance of their homes and took notes about the location of their homes. He also prepared in other ways. He concealed himself as a police officer, outbidding his black SUV with police lights and a police license plate, wearing a black tactical vest and body armor, carrying a police flashlight, and a handgun. Of course, he wore hyper realistic silicone mask as seen on the surveillance videos. The video of his arrival and shooting senator Hoffman is truly chilling. Again, it's no exaggeration to say this is the stuff of nightmares. And the photo of the firearms found in Belter's abandoned SUV. Based on these crimes, we brought a federal complaint charging Belter with an array of federal charges. Counts one and two charged him with stalking. Count one charges him with stalking representative Melissa Hortman using interstate facilities, and that's title 18 United States bill twenty two sixty one. The statutory penalties there are life in prison. Count two similarly contain is charged with stalking state senator John Hoffman using interstate facilities. The statutory the maximum penalty of that count is twenty years prison. Counts three and four charged Belter with the murder of Melissa and of the Hortons using a firearm, but in violation of 18 USC nine twenty four j. Count and these are punishable by term of life imprisonment or even death. Counts five and six charge him with shooting the Hartmans and the Hoffmans using a firearm and both of those counts also carry a maximum sentence of life in prison. And before I finish my remarks, I wanna say a little bit about law enforcement and the manhunt that we've heard about the last two days. Over the past forty eight hours, federal, state, and local law enforcement from throughout the state of Minnesota have worked together together to carry out the largest manhunt in Minnesota history. Now a lot has been said about law enforcement in recent weeks, but make no mistake, the men and women of our federal, state, and local law enforcement put their lives at risk and on the live on the line to keep Minnesota safe. They work tirelessly day and night to make sure that the tragic events of Friday night ended without further violence or bloodshed. We owe them all a debt of gratitude, and they will forever have my respect and admiration. I'm gonna turn it over to special agent Alvin Whiston for the FBI. Speaker 2: Thanks, Joe. Speaker 3: Good morning. My name is Alvin Winston and I serve as the special agent in charge of the FBI Minneapolis field office, which covers the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. I want to begin by extending my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the community that has been shaken by this devastating act of violence. Our thoughts remain with those who are grieving and all who have been impacted by this tragedy. Over the weekend, the people of Minnesota and the nation have been watching closely as this case has unfolded. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension provided a detailed update yesterday, so I won't repeat those specifics. This was a targeted attack against individuals who answered the call to public service. The FBI's role in moments like this is clear to stand alongside our partners, bring federal resources, intelligence capabilities, and reach to the effort, not just to apprehend the individual responsible, but to understand the full scope of the threat. That work continues. This case became the largest coordinated manhunt in Minnesota's history. We are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our law enforcement partners across the state. No single agency could have done this alone. And because of that unified effort, a dangerous individual was taken into custody. Let me say this clearly. Political violence has no place in this country. The FBI alongside our partners will remain focused on the work ahead and on ensuring justice is served. And with that, I'll hand it over to Ju. Speaker 2: Thank you, with those comments, and, we're thankful today to see these charges filed. Early on with our partners from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other federal partners from the ATF, United States Marshals Service, and others. They provided assistance to the team of local investigators, the Brooklyn Park Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, and the BCA that were working on this right to begin with, along with all the other hundreds of people that stepped up with Champlain Police Department as well in this to pursue this justice. You might be asking because we see it a lot of times these cases, you know, go in various orders when they are, but this is an indication that the United States Attorney's Office stands along with us in the state of Minnesota that when somebody and an evil individual decides to move this and create fear in our communities and commit evil acts, that we will pursue every possible charge that we can from the state charges that you've learned about today to these federal charges that were discussed early on, and I'm grateful for the leadership of the United States Attorney's Office and the FBI for helping us move that forward so quickly in a coordinated approach. We do that because as SAC Winston said, in situations like this, we have individuals that step up to serve their communities. They are elected officials across our state. And when an individual chooses to target them for their role in representing all of us, it's an incumbent upon all of us to put all the resources forward to hold that individual accountable, to seek justice, and to make sure that we are working together to show the community across Minnesota and The United States that political violence is never okay. We as a country are formed on the basis that we have political discourse and that we have debates ongoing on what we do and that we elect people day in, day out to represent us. And when somebody tries to undermine that, it's important for all of us to hold that person accountable so that we can move forward as a country and have a system in place that a representative government and that we provide the protections for those individuals and their families moving forward. And so I'm thankful for these, charges today, to move this forward and the the great work in the United States Attorney's Office, partnering with us to to move forward on this. And with that, they'll take some push. Speaker 0: Why is there a terrorism charge in in there? Why is there not a terrorism charge is the question that you know, we brought the charges that we think are appropriate right now. Obviously, these crimes are about forty eight hours old, so we have an ongoing investigation. I can't comment as to what other charges may or may not be brought. Did have any help? Did mister Belcher? Will you seek the death penalty? Lou, thank you for the question. Will we see the death penalty? It's too early to tell. That is one of the options for several other charges though. Speaker 4: Did mister Belcher have any assistance? Are you looking into whether he may have had assistance? And if he did, what are the potential consequences for anybody who may have assisted him either before or after these tragic shootings? Speaker 0: Our investigation remains ongoing in several areas including whether or not he had anyone helping him, assisting him in either carrying out these attacks or fleeing from them. I can't comment to that. At this time, there's nothing in the complaint suggesting that someone did, but the investigation is ongoing. In fact, it's just in its infancy. It's been forty eight hours, Most of which we are primarily focused on finding him. Speaker 5: Do find these center surveillance cameras in Minneapolis shortly after these crimes occurred? Do we know how he got from Brooklyn Park to Minneapolis? Was it on foot? Speaker 0: I I don't know the answer to that. Speaker 6: Can you speak to already about the state charges concurrent with the federal charges. How does that all work? Does this not you know, make null the state charges or take precedence over the state? Speaker 0: It it does not null nullify the state charges. They remain in place. Today, he was brought into federal custody. He'll make his initial appoint initial court appearance in federal court over in Saint Paul at 01:30 central time this afternoon. And my expectation based on prior cases is the federal case, the federal charges will be litigated first, but the state charges won't necessarily go anywhere. Speaker 7: Can you speak to why investigators believe he carried out this attack and for how long he may have been planning these attacks? Speaker 0: Well, it's pretty clear from the evidence that he's been planning these to pass for quite some time. There's voluminous writings as you've seen in the reporting that were found both in his car and his house about his planning, lists of names, and individuals. In terms of the why, it's unclear. Speaker 8: He's been cooperating with you. Interaction with the Newhole police. What had law enforcement been told at that point? Speaker 9: Were they aware to be on the lookout for a dark SUV that resembled a police vehicle? Speaker 0: I don't know. I can turn that. Don't if one of my colleagues here know. I know that they had heard about the shooting of senator Hoffman and and being the diligent law enforcement they were knowing that they had elected officials living in their communities, they went out to do a wellness check. I don't know more than that. Speaker 2: You know, what I what I can say and as you can, I don't know the specifics of the question? This is in what on that whether it is. What I will tell you is that Hennepin County law enforcement working together at that time knew of that, and so as the different jurisdictions are on duty, some of them did proactive. You know, as we've heard, you've heard from chief Brule on this in Maple Grove, for example, or in Brooklyn Park, I'm sorry, for example. They went out proactively to check on the status and the well-being, and that's how we encountered this and prevented additional attacks, which we believe certainly could have occurred from occurring. So we don't know the specifics on the New Hope as to what they were doing, but they were tracking the shooting that happened, and so several of them were being proactive and checking on various people that they knew resided in their city. Speaker 9: So did he shoot at the officers in Brooklyn or the Brooklyn Park officers that responded? Did he shoot at them, or was he shooting into the house and they kind of, like, chased them into the house? Speaker 0: My understanding is it's unclear at the moment whether or not he shot at them. It's possible that he did. It's not clear. Obviously, it was a chaotic scene. Speaker 9: Was he wearing the mask when the New Hope officer interacted with him? Speaker 0: I believe he was, although I can't say it for sure. Is there a reason to believe that there was plans to commit additional violence at, say, the protests that were going on on that day? I've not seen evidence of that. It's hard to say what his plan was. Obviously, he went to the homes of no less than four elected officials. He had a list of other elected officials, their home addresses. So Speaker 2: To make sure that we connect the dots properly, could you name the other two officials? Speaker 0: You know, I we can't at this time. I I it wouldn't surprise me if they publicly identify themselves, but it's not really my place to do that if they wanna protect their own privacy. Speaker 5: What's your message to Minnesotans who may get a late night knock on the door from police if something's going on in their communities? I mean, can you just speak on that? Speaker 0: I'm gonna let law enforcement handle that one. I don't Speaker 10: know if someone sure. Please. Good morning. Police chief Mark Realy, Brooklyn Park Police Department. Great question. Like we send out a message to our community when this first occurred is you always can call 911 and verify if the person at your door is a police officer. If they are a working police officer, they will be connected to a dispatch center that can validate that. So the first thing I would do is if you're concerned about it, is call 911. Obviously there's a lot of different uniforms and it's never wrong to do that. Speaker 6: Can you clarify the, the shootings and stuff because we were told I believe that the person in custody did shoot at police at the Hortman residence. That's an important detail. Speaker 2: Yeah. So, I'll answer this again. That's part of the act investigation and I know there's been a lot that's going on. But as anytime law enforcement uses deadly force, there's a, walled out separate investigation to examine that. At that time, I will tell you we still work through. We are gathering evidence when it goes through. This happened incredibly fast. What I can tell you is the police officers that were there on scene that while they were assessing the situation that the gunfire erupted, and we are still working through and reconstructing that crime scene. We've gathered all of the evidence related to that. And what was said there is that this is definitely happening very quickly, and we definitely know that he began, shooting at the Hortmans as will be detailed in this information immediately once the officers were assessing the situation. Whether or not that their gunfire was returned at the officer or not, we are working through that. We need to recreate that crime scene. Speaker 4: Did you identify the motive? Speaker 2: And I should say, I wanna say, like, in that process, the the gunfire was erupting in such a way all around that that is partly why with that the the reasonable interpretation on some of those is where that that came from initially. Speaker 4: Can you identify the potential motive here? It has been widely reported that the list, this hit list, contain names of people who are abortion rights supporters and also can you please, release the names of the two other targeted victims who are fortunately to get away? Speaker 0: As I said in with respect to the other two potential victims, I think it's up to them whether they want to publicly identify themselves. As I said, it wouldn't surprise me if they do. They're elected officials. But that's their right. Obviously, they don't have families and and children privacy interests that they needed to sort through. So I'll let them do that. With respect to the potential motive, let me say this. There's been a lot of press coverage and speculation and discussion about manifesto. I've seen nothing like a Unabomber style manifesto in his writings. He had many, many notebooks full of plans, lists of names, surveillance, efforts that he took to surveil and locate the home addresses and family members relationships with these elected officials. But I have not seen anything involving some sort of political screed or manifesto that would clearly identify what motivated him. Obviously, his primary motive was to go out and murder people. They were all elected officials. They were all Democrats. Beyond that, I think it's just way too speculative for anyone that's reviewed these materials to know and to say what was motivating him in terms of ideology or specific issues. There's a lot of English rights. Were some abortion rights supporters, I believe, on the list. But, again, there was dozens and dozens and dozens of names on hundreds of pages of documents that were recovered with his writings on. Speaker 9: Can you confess and give more details after his aberrated last name? Speaker 0: I'm not gonna comment on that at this time. Speaker 6: Talk about how long this pre planning and surveillance went on. Do you have any idea? Speaker 0: It appears what I got on for an extensive period of time. I think it's unclear. The writings appear to have been done at various times over the course of at least months, I would say, but beyond that, it's speculative. Speaker 8: Was did he have any did he have, two there's kind of two questions that go towards the same thing. He appeared to be involved with some kind of a home security or professional security operation. I wonder if you have any details into that. And was he familiar to law enforcement even though he didn't appear to have any kind of serious criminal record in the state? Speaker 0: I I I've seen the press reporting on his security company. I don't know anything beyond that or any involvement that that would have in this case, and I had no knowledge of his interactions with law enforcement prior to this. Speaker 4: Can you comment at all about, you know, his car, the light pack, the license plate, maybe a bit of a badge sniffer. Was he obsessed with police? Speaker 0: I I have no idea. The I think I skipped over the slide. The police license plate wasn't an official looking police license plate as you can tell. It said, I believe it was, a reflective black things that you would buy to put on, like, a mailbox, like, your address on the mailbox. Speaker 4: You're a bit obsessed with the arena? Speaker 0: I have no idea. Speaker 4: There have been reports that his wife was, quote, detained at a stop a restaurant in Oneania, and that in her car was found weapons, passports, and a lot of cash. She was also with, three children. Is that true, and is the wife being investigated? Speaker 0: Go ahead. I'll defer to law enforcement on that one. Speaker 2: Yeah. I can answer the question. So when, you know, the the question was detained. Obviously, when an individual commits these, you know, heinous acts and we knew he was the suspect in this case, we're gonna wanna talk to the family. You know, at this point in time, this is, you know, under active prosecution, and so we wanna be careful about what we say. She was cooperative with us at that time. There were a firearm in the vehicle at the time and valid reasons for her to she was legally in possession, I should say that, at this time, and there were other items that were covered, but we're gonna leave that to some of the prosecution as we work this out. So we're not gonna comment on all of it as this is still continuing to be part of the active investigation. We need to figure out exactly what all this means in relation to it soon. Speaker 11: To be clear, there's not going to be a first appearance in district court than today. And then where is he being held? Speaker 0: There'll be a a initial appearance in federal court over in Saint Paul, Minnesota at 01:30 Central Time this afternoon. I do not anticipate there will be an appearance in state court today. Speaker 9: Just one more question on the on the the hit list. You said 45 names and we've seen more than that. Was there more than 45? Speaker 0: There's lots of, I mean, go. Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I think it can help. I mean, just there's a lot of names that we're working together right now. So, the FBI, there are some, and we've mentioned this, that there are some other names that are from out of state. They have been working through the through our fusion center network across The United States, and then our partners at the FBI are helping coordinate with that, in that process. The question is a good one. Part of what we're looking through with the names, the numbers that you're referencing, they are was names in multiple notebooks. Some of them are redundant. So I don't have a total number of people that were in there because some of them are overlapping on multiple lists. And again, I do wanna continue to clarify. This is not a list of people that was in numerical order or in some sort of ranking. These are names that are being developed as we are looking at this across multiple writings in terms of that, just to be clear about. Speaker 9: And what was senator Hoffman's name even Speaker 0: in there, though? I believe it was. Okay. Where is he being held? Right now, I think he's in the custody of the United States Marshal Service over at the Saint Paul Federal Courthouse. Beyond that, I'll defer to the marshals on where he'll be held, assuming he is held in custody pending trial. Speaker 1: Can today's court appearance be considered an arraignment? Is there anything you can tell us about what's supposed to happen today? Speaker 0: It'll be an initial appearance because he's only charged by complaint. He has not yet been indicted. So he'll, have an initial appearance as all defendants do before a federal judge where at least he'll be asked to identify himself. The court will appoint in a lawyer to represent him, or he can retain one and have a lawyer represent him. And then, the court will ask whether or not we will move to seek his detention pending trial, which we obviously will. And then the court could set a detention hearing and a preliminary hearing to assess whether or not this probable cause to charge him by complaint. How much of that will happen actually today is unclear. We'll see at 01:30. Speaker 1: And it's at the Warren E. Berger Federal Building and that's the only court appearance today? Speaker 0: Correct. Speaker 1: Thank Speaker 9: you. For Superintendent Evans, yesterday, the way that things played out yesterday when you came up for the 05:30 or so press conference, did you know that he was close to being caught at that point or did it come as a surprise when you got the trail cam information or or from a neighbor who saw him in the field? Speaker 2: So, that, you know, we as noted, we still had belief that he was a Civic County. When we held that, we did not know the information specifically that it was there based on the overall investigative that was still our belief there but the specific information that led to his arrest at that time we were not tracking yet. So, I mean, and I assume that's related to the timeline. These teams and the law enforcement teams acted very quickly when they had a specific lead that led us to know he was in that area and so, it was a relatively short period of time where they converge and we're able to do that. Speaker 4: What we knew before this news conference was bad enough. What you have told us is even worse. Where does this rank in terms of attacks that you know of, across The United States? Speaker 0: Look. I mean, this was a political assassination, which is not a word we use very often in The United States, let alone here in Minnesota. It's a it's a chilling attack on our democracy, on our way of life. It's only the most recent example of violent political extremism in this country. That's a trend that's been increasing over the in recent years. That's unfortunate. And I hope it a wake up call to everyone that people can disagree with you without being evil, needing to be killed or a curtain. Speaker 1: You mentioned that multiple different aspects of this investigation were found in multiple different notebooks. How many were discovered and were they all in his vehicle? Speaker 0: Some my understanding is some notebooks were recovered from his vehicle and others from his house. Although, obviously, there was a lot of there was law enforcement literally from all around the state. I couldn't begin to identify all of them representatives of many of those or some of those agencies are here, but far more were involved. And so, like, all I can say, there was many notebooks recovered from multiple locations. Part of it start Speaker 9: Makes sense about him going back home. Like, what was he thinking? Did he say he was trying to get back to his house? I mean, it's it's odd, I guess, you could say. Speaker 0: I I can't speculate as to what was in his mind. He obviously went on a murderous rampage on Friday, so I think I'm not aligned with this thought process. Speaker 10: Mister Winston, can we Speaker 8: talk about is there any sort of, attention being paid to what kind of safety needs to be given to politicians at this time, or is this a space where people feel like any threat has has, left with this threat? Speaker 3: Okay. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna, of course, take these threats, as serious as possible and throw all available resources towards these threats. We are in lockstep with the Capitol Police on a regular basis, and we're continuing to have those conversations about threats towards, politicians. Thank you for that question. Speaker 0: Maybe one more question here before we wrap up. Speaker 11: Perhaps this is for chief Brule. Just wanted to wrap it back to, hoping you can speak to just how pivotal pivotal it is that your officers acted proactively stopping by the Hortman's House and likely stopping more victims. Speaker 10: Yeah. Great question. Just for everybody in the room. Question is, how important was it that the police officer stopped at representative Hoffman's house, which really foiled this entire plan. It's incredibly important. That started with a sergeant who was actually off duty, was walking out of the building, and had heard that there was a shooting in another community at center Hoffman's house. Being alert, seeing two officers in the police department, said, hey, drive by Melissa Hortman's house and just check on the house, would you? And that's essentially what they pulled up and found that in the driveway was the car, and essentially, the criminal act was occurring as they pulled up. Had they not foiled the plan, you know, essentially took his vehicle away from him, which involved all his maps, all his names, all his weaponry. I would be very scared what it would look like over the next few hours had we not done that. Speaker 9: Just to clarify, did your sergeant know about the New Hope and Maple Grove incidents or just the Speaker 8: one in, Champlain? Speaker 10: He only knew about the one that occurred in Champlain. Speaker 1: So the officer that the other officer that, came upon him at the second house and saw him sitting in a vehicle, did did she realize, like, did did she report that and did they try to chase? Did she realize that Speaker 11: was suspect or not really? Speaker 0: I don't I don't think she did. She knew something was awry, and then he left and proceeded to Brooklyn Park and carried out the next shooting. So it got lost in the chaos of the event, not lost in the gas of events, but there was a new shooting shortly thereafter. It really is remarkable to the question earlier how he went to four houses that night and then three of them or two of them he encountered law enforcement in. This third and fourth one, and the second one almost held it all. It's it's remarkable how diligent law enforcement was at 02:30 and 03:00 and 03:30 in the morning on a Friday night that they were responding to just do wellness checks on our politicians. It's a testament. The last forty eight hours have been an incredible testament to the professionalism and dedication and commitment of our federal state local law enforcement. Thank you all. Thank you. Thank you.

It happened again. A white woman, Julie Gard Schnuelle, was brutally murdered while walking her dog in Auburn by Harold Rashad Dabney III, a suspect with a criminal history. He allegedly stabbed her and stole her truck before being apprehended the next day, with her dog remaining by her side until her body was found. I can't help but notice that if the races were reversed, the reaction would be immediate and intense, yet this incident seems to be receiving little attention.

🚨It happened again. Another white woman was "hacked to death" over the weekend for no apparent reason, by a suspect who is black with multiple prior arrests including illegal posession of a sawed-off shotgun and removing serial numbers from firearms in Virginia. Julie Gard Schnuelle, a former veteranary professor, had taken her dog for a walk in Auburn when the suspect, Harold Rashad Dabney III, allegedly murdered her by stabbing and stole her truck before being arrested the next day. Her dog stayed by her side until her body was discovered. Once again, if the races were reversed, the outcry would be instantaneous and apocalyptic, and yet you're probably just hearing about this now.

Police have arrested Harold Rashad Dabney III from Montgomery and charged him with two counts of capital murder in connection to the death of doctor Chanelli at Kissell Park. Police say they received a call about a suspicious person around 08:45AM Sunday on Beehive Road and labeled Dabney the suspect in the homicide. Chanelli's wounds appear to be consistent with a sharp force trauma, meaning caused by a knife or other sharp objects. Chanelli's red Ford F-150 that was taken from Hustle Park on Saturday was found along Lee Road 177 or Wire Road in Auburn, and abandoned on Wire Road Sunday afternoon. Kiesel Park is still closed and remains a crime scene with tape at the gate, and will remain closed through the weekend. Police say this is all the information they have right now; updates will be provided on air and online at wtvm.com.
