Speaker 0: Interesting. So what most surprised you about what went down during the pandemic? One thing I would think of is the speed. I remember everyone at the beginning saying it takes so many years to develop vaccine, we won't have 1 first, and then It was an amazingly short period. Did that surprise you? Speaker 1: Yes. That's an easy answer. I mean, you know, I was fortunate enough to be part of a team at Children's Hospital They created a rotavirus vaccine that took roughly 26 years. My sense of how long things took. Generation, that's a generation. Here, you know, it was a novel virus that had unusual characteristics, SARS CoV-two. It was a novel technology that was going to used to try and combat this, which is to say the messenger RNA vaccines of the Pfizer, Moderna or the vector virus vaccines of Johnson and Johnson, AstraZeneca. But you know, what the government did was they took the risk out of the pharmaceutical companies. Through Operation Warp Speed, they basically Put $11,000,000,000 into a program to accelerate the development. They took the risk out of it. So they paid for the phase one trials and phase two trials and phase three trials, And they they paid to manufacture that vaccine at risk, meaning they were making millions of doses while you were still doing phase three trials and didn't know whether it was work it worked or didn't know whether it was I mean, the the from the time of that virus being isolated and its genome sequence was in January of 2020 To having 2 large phase three trials of Pfizer and Moderna's mRNA vaccine as big as any adult or pediatric vaccine trial was 11 months, And that's because, you know, of operation warp speed. I mean, I was in the Trump administration. They basically bet on 6 horses to win 1 race, And, you know, that never happens. So, the only time it ever happened really was, the polio vaccine. The March of Dimes did that In 1954, 1955, they also paid pharmaceutical companies to do those trials. Speaker 0: They mass How long was the development of the polio vaccine? Speaker 1: Well, if you start from the beginning, I mean, the 1st polio vaccines were really, you know, 20 years earlier. It was in the 15 forties, but both of them failed miserably, and so then you had, these later vaccines. But so if you count all that, but Certainly from the time that Jonas Salk first doing his work to having about whose years means or 5, 6, 7 years. Speaker 0: So it it it's somewhat ironic that, yes, the Trump He implemented Project Warp Speed, and so we had this amazing development schedule, and yet it's his followers who mostly don't want to be vaccinated. Speaker 1: And that's under the category of things that surprised me. It surprised me how well these vaccines were. It did. I mean, when doctor Fauci so I remember talking to doctor Fauci, and he said That he was he was hoping that this would be 50% effective, and if so, he would authorize it. And then he as we got closer, he was optimistic it could be as much as 70% effective. Remember, Barney Graham and and, Kizzmekia Korobit and others at NIH were under him, under NIAID, National Institute of Allergy and Infect Diseases, which is is his his, organization. They they did so he was he was pretty close to that work. And then as we got closer, we thought, you know, this could be as high as 70% of it. Well, it was 95% effective against severe disease. Against mild disease, it was that good early because the, that was only a 3 month study, but so that had to fade. But protection against severe disease has continued to hold up. So the rapidity with which it was made, The fact that it's still remarkably safe and remarkably effective amazed me. The second thing that amazed me was, so now you could we had to figure out how to mass produce it, mass distribute it, Mass administered this vaccine, which we did pretty quickly. So in January, you're up to like a 1000000 dose a day, then 2,000,000, 3,000,000. By April, you're going to get 3,000,000 doses a day being given to the American public, which for which there wasn't an infrastructure to mass vaccinate adults. So all amazing, right? And then we hit an absolute wall. Once we got to 70% immunization rates, there was a solid 30% of people in this country We simply didn't wanna get vaccinated even though we lived through 2020 when we had nothing. We we didn't have vaccines. We didn't have anti Virals, we didn't have monoclonals. All we had was testing, masking, isolating, quarantining, closing businesses, shuttering schools, Restricting travel, trying to just limit human to human interaction. We shut down this economy, and now you had something that could save our lives and people still chose not to get it. It was remarkable to me that level of denialism and resistance. I would have never predicted that. And all it did in the end was just galvanized these anti vaccine forces. I would have guessed before this vaccine came out that this would have really hurt the anti vaccine movement in this country. The opposite was true. It emboldened them. It's we just leaned into a libertarian left hook by sort of requiring vaccines and requiring masking and mandating it and that Just energize that group. Speaker 0: What would it take, like a zombie plague, like a real zombie plague, like in a World War Z or Eye of Legend? I don't understand it. Speaker 1: Doesn't this win? I mean, almost 1,200,000 people have died in this country, and certainly initially, all of We're chosen to be vaccinated or were unvaccinated. And, once the vaccine was available, they still need we saw it in the hospital. The vaccines were available for, For adults, for children over 16, starting in December, then it went down to 12 by May, the following May, and still, you know, we'd see kids come into the hospital who Weren't vaccinated, their parents weren't vaccinated, their siblings weren't vaccinated. I mean, medicine is hard enough, but here you had children who were Coming in on face masks, progressing to ventilation, and up into the intensive care unit, parents are crying, you're thinking this could have been prevented. It's just, it's really hard.

Anybody remember what rule 213 was supposed to be or what it is now? Over a year ago, Governor Hochul tried to have something come in place called to rule 213 where the state can come remove you from your home and put you into quarantine. It was approved to go through until a bunch of lawyers sued them for it and the judge appealed it. They said this is not gonna go through. No thanks. Goodbye. Until this past September, when Governor Hochul appealed to that decision, he followed up with the New York State Supreme Court appellate division, 4th judicial department. Both sides gave their argument. Hochul's lawyers saying, oh, it's not It'd be as bad as you think. While the other lawyers saying what the nightmare will be if this goes through. Number 1, there's no Age restriction. It could be your newborn baby. It could be your grandparents. It could be you who just gave birth. There are no restrictions to removing the person that needs to come out and go to quarantine. Could be in the middle of the night, middle of the day, while you're at work, doesn't matter. They take you. You have no right. There is no due process. There are no court hearings. There's also no time duration limit. You are there until they tell you you can leave. You are forced also to take whatever medicine that they give you, whatever vaccine that they decide is good for you. On that list also includes experimental drugs. They are allowed to experiment with your body to see if something will work. I'm not making this shit up. This is all listed on the appeal. The worst part is you are not allowed to take a test to prove that you are not even sick. You don't care about test results. If they deem you to be a problem, they just take you out and put you into a quarant. If you look up on Google, Some websites will say, no, it's not a quarantine case. It's something else. Well, really, what the fuck would you call it? They announced over this weekend, the appeals court finally got back with the decision after months later and they put it Through. Rule 213 is now in place for the entire state of New York. Attorney Bobbie Ann Cox is saying There is only 1 more place they can appeal this. It's the New York State Court of Appeals. That's our last chance. Frankly, I don't know how any judge Could have voted that this rule is okay. Maybe they don't think it will happen to them or to Their family members or to their friends, but there is no way that this is constitutional by any means.

The honor code was never going to work, that when vaccinated and unvaccinated people are mixing, unless there is proof of vaccination, everybody should still be wearing masks. And so I actually support what the CDC is now doing, which is going back to this indoor mask requirement, because frankly, we know that we can't trust the unvaccinated, that they have been walking around without masks. And in fact, that's what led the surge that we're seeing. How are we going to incentivize people to actually get the vaccine? So that's why I think the CDC and the Biden administration needs to come out a lot bolder and say, if you're vaccinated, you can do all these things, hear all these freedoms that you have. Because otherwise, people are going to go out and enjoy these freedoms anyway.

I'll pay something, but I'm not gonna pay 50%. That is wrong. And mayor Adams needs our support. That's our state government. That's your assemblyman. That's your state senator. Why should the New York City taxpayers pay this alone? If I was asking, I would say, the state should pay 100% of the cost because New York took care of 100% of the problem. And now, you want New York City payers taxpayers to pay for this On top of congestion pricing, on top of crime, on top of homeless, on top of the highest in the United States of America.

So the CEO and this whole team, his whole management team comes in, and they're sitting there. And we have I'm in my office in London. I was responsible for essentially interviewing the CEOs and the management teams of these multinational corporations and then deciding whether or not Alliance should put money into those stocks in their European portfolios, international, and global portfolios, and sometimes in our domestic US portfolios. And so the CEO comes in, and he literally with this as the backdrop, there's a speakerphone to New York, our pharmaceutical analyst in London, other portfolio managers, our traders. And he looks across the table at me, he says, a few people have died. It's very, very rare. Well, we sued them twice in 2021 because first, we sued them over mandating the shot when it was EUA. And then they basically duped the court into believing that they weren't going to issue a mandate because they had repealed their first one, rescinded it. And then so the court dismissed the case and said, you know, look. There's nothing for us to adjudicate at this point. The case is no longer ripe. We're not gonna deal with it. We're dismissing the case. Seventeen days later, LAUSD implemented a new mandate saying that employees could not test, and it fired a couple of weeks later, 500 employees. It went on to fire or displace more than a thousand in total, and it denied, it said, well, we we accept your religious accept your religious exemption or your medical exemption, but they refused to accommodate them. So they pushed them out. People were pushed out. No pensions. They lost their seniority. They lost everything. They were fired. They lost their jobs. I mean, it was really outrageous. So we filed another lawsuit in November 2021. And in this case, we argued that the shots do not stop transmission or infection, and we knew this because CDC said that in 2021. And CMS confirmed that. Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services confirmed that in I believe it was October 2021. And so if they don't stop transmission or infection, we argued, then they are not a public health issue. They are therapeutic. They are a private matter, and they must be treated as such. We also argued that natural immunity is real and that the supreme court case from nineteen o five called Jacobson versus Massachusetts doesn't apply because Jacobson was predicated on the Supreme Court's assumption that the smallpox vaccination was safe and effective because it had been in use for many, many years. Now I will leave that aside because I don't think it was safe or effective, but that's what people claimed, and that's what the court accepted. Speaker 0: That's great. Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, we ended up doing super well. At first, it got dismissed, then we had a fantastic argument in front of a three judge panel in the Ninth Circuit on appeal, and they found in our favor. And then there was what's called an en banc review, meaning a broader review of the ninth circuit. And usually, it takes nine to ten, twelve months to get a ruling an opinion or a decision out of the ninth circuit. It took three months to get their decision this time, and they ruled against us last Thursday, July 31. And they said that all that mattered was that there was a public health emergency. I don't think that's true. We are actually argued that COVID was not smallpox. Smallpox had a thirty percent death rate. We knew already by the the time when LUSD mandated their shot that the death rate was in line with the seasonal flu. It was, absurd. It was not a man you know, it was not an emergency anymore. We knew from the 2020 that four percent of Los Angeles County residents had already been exposed and recovered. Literally four percent in in April, April, May 2020. This was known a year in advance. It means everybody's been exposed practically at that point by by, August 2021. And so we argued it's not the same thing, and therefore, Jacobson does not apply. And the court said it doesn't matter whether or not the stop the the shot stops transmission or infection. All that matters is that the school district could have assumed that it did. But when I really started thinking about how to craft the bill and what to do with it, I looked to existing bills, and there was a bill that banned COVID shot mandates in Idaho. And I thought, I'm just gonna take that. It's already passed. Like, they have to be o okay with that. If they don't think that COVID shot should be mandated, why should anything be mandated? And so I took that, and I just, you know, reoriented, adapted to my needs, and crafted this beautiful piece of legislation, I believe. But what I did was I just believed because I had the moral authority. Who in the heck believes that they can tell me what to put in my body? Who believes that they can tell me whether or not to carry a baby? You know, like I mean, think about it. If you can be forced to take a medical intervention for the greater good, why can't they force you to get pregnant for the greater good if there's too little population growth? Right? This is what happens in brave new world. They decant babies. They grow them for you know, to keep the population going and to create certain strata of of children. I'm not talking about abortion. I'm not talking about anything like that. I'm just saying that it's about having control over our own bodies. If they can force us to take a medical intervention, why can't they force us to take benzos? Why can't they force us to take ADD medication so we're more focused and we can be, you know, more productive at at work? Why can't they make us take antidepressants so that we feel happy and cheery and it benefits society? Right? Like, this is the insanity of it.
